Card Transfer Fee

Everything you need to know about Card Transfer Fee

Updated yesterday

Starting January 6, 2026, A 1% transfer fee will apply to any transactions made using a card, including Apple Pay, when adding to or withdrawing funds from your SmartSaver Main account .

Please note that, depending on your bank’s policies, additional fees may be applied by your bank. These charges are independent of SmartSaver and may vary from one provider to another.

Why are card fees introduced

This adjustment helps us cover the processing costs charged by payment providers and supports a fast, secure and reliable money transfer experience.

By keeping these fees transparent and separate from your returns, we can maintain some of the strongest returns available in Europe.

Bank Transfers & Auto-Invest remain free

Using a card is a personal choice. If you prefer to avoid fees, you can continue using the free options:

  • Bank transfers for adding or withdrawing funds.

  • Recurring Auto-Invest payments via card, which remain free of charge

These alternatives allow you to move money in and out of SmartSaver without any additional cost.

Example of the 1% Card Transfer Fee

If you transfer €1,000 to your SmartSaver account using a Card or Apple Pay:

  • The 1% fee equals €10

  • The net amount credited to your SmartSaver account will be €990

Note:

If you create a withdrawal order to your card scheduled to be paid after this date (January 6th, 2026), the corresponding charges will apply.
